About

Staircare FRP has been Australia's leader in Fibre-Reinforced Plastic (FRP) stairs, walkways, grating, and structural shapes since 2004. Operating from Lisarow NSW, the company designs, fabricates, and supplies custom FRP solutions for a wide range of industries — from rail and public transport through to marine and offshore, chemical, gas and oil, water and wastewater, and architectural and commercial applications.

All FRP materials are non-conductive and provide exceptional corrosion resistance, making them ideal for environments where steel fails — particularly chemical, marine, high-voltage, and water-treatment environments. Products include complete FRP composite stair systems, walkways and boardwalks, hand and guardrails, grating and cover grating, platforms and crossovers, rooftop walkways, structural shapes, stair treads and floor alternatives, anti-slip plates, and anti-slip tread covers.

Clients include Transgrid, John Holland, Lendlease, Bechtel, Sydney Water, Downer, Transport Sydney Trains, Merlin Entertainments, Rio Tinto, and Parks NSW.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

What is FRP and why is it used instead of steel?

FRP (Fibre-Reinforced Plastic) is a composite material combining reinforcing fibres with a polymer matrix. It is electrically non-conductive, highly corrosion resistant, and significantly lighter than steel. In environments where steel corrodes, conducts electricity, or requires heavy maintenance — chemical plants, water treatment facilities, marine environments, rail infrastructure, high-voltage power — FRP is often the engineered solution.
